Christ is Risen! Indeed He is Risen!               Христос воскрес! Воістину воскрес!

Dear Friends,

With faith in the resurrection, trust in God’s abundant mercy and assurance of prayers, our parish family turns to the family of Stephanie Fedora offering them our support on the occasion of her repose.  Stephanie died this past Thursday, May 16tharound 5am.

How to summarize the life of a person such as Stephanie? I dare not do it. But, I will state that she died as she lived: peacefully, surrounded by love, and comforted by her faith in Christ Jesus. This is a lesson for the living.

As pastor, I am saddened by the loss this means for our church here on earth. Yet, I am happy for her that God saw fit to spare her from what could have been a long and uncomfortable battle with cancer. Most importantly though, I am happy that she is able to enter into that full life which we here on earth cannot fully grasp and can only imperfectly perceive. The day must come when the nascent salmon leaves her native tributary, rushing through rapids and flying over falls, to finally burst into the immensity of the ocean.

With all that Stephanie did for our parish, especially our pyrohi project, it behooves me to call to mind her kindness and tact. Truly, a Christian soul is like a fountain of kindness, making everything in its vicinity flow over with goodness. She was a fountain of kindness and lived that Christ-like quality with those whom she knew.

Stephanie’s funeral services are as follows. Bagnato Funeral home is open for her viewing this Sunday 2-8 pm, with Panakhyda at 7pm.  The funeral Liturgy will be here at 10am on Monday.

In the Risen Christ,

Jason, priest and sinner
