Sunday June 9th, 2019                                                    Pentecost Sunday

Glory to Jesus Christ!                                                                Слава Ісусу Христу!

Dear Friends,

This weekend I wish to welcome Fr. David Misbrener who is celebrating the 11am Divine Liturgy. I also wish to thank Fr. Ivan Smereka for stepping in to help us out while we are away at the Archeparchial events in Philadelphia.  This Saturday in Philadelphia there is a large meeting of youth with our new Metropolitan, Borys Gudziak. Among these youth are our own youth group members!

Please pray for us as we transition from the youth days in Philadelphia to the youth days in the Adirondack mountains of upstate New York. I’m enormously proud of our youth group and this retreat is the highlight of their year, the crowning jewel in their efforts.

Speaking of efforts, I will try my best to have a bulletin for next week, but if our return is delayed till Saturday it may prove difficult to have next week’s bulletin prepared in time.  In case we are not able to have one printed I wish to extend my Father’s Day greetings to the fathers of the parish. Thank you for providing the example of integrity and faith to the next generation!

June 24this the feast of the Birth of St. John the Forerunner. Liturgy that day will be at 10am.

In closing, I wish to remind you that Our Lord is so generous and kind, the Giver of all gifts. Ask Him this Pentecost to give you a portion of His mighty Spirit, and He will do so! Ask for anything (wisdom, joy, charity, prophecy, healing, understanding) and believe that He will give. Only remember this, you must ask with faith!

In Christ,

Jason, priest and sinner
